This project aimed to promote digital technology, specifically through the development of digital solar resource maps and management systems, while enhancing capacity in the deployment of renewables, particularly solar energy, within the APEC region. It established a capacity-building platform for APEC economies to leverage innovative technologies in formulating energy transition policies and fostering cooperation to address climate change. The project sought to contribute to APEC's goal of doubling the share of modern renewables by 2030, aligned with the Putrajaya Vision, and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 to combat environmental challenges. This Workshop Summary encapsulated insights from speakers and participants, recommending strategies to support policies and develop roadmaps for increasing renewable energy use in the energy mix and attaining carbon neutrality through effective energy transition.
